Riverina Carriage Driving Society

Mal Welsh: The Riverina Club held the Mitavite NSW CDE Championships on November 4/5 2011. It was a great weekend weatherwise and all the competitors enjoyed themselves. There were 39 entries and 38 starters, whilst one of the NZ visitors, Gavin Kew, hosted by Carolyn Blakeley, drove the marathon on the Sunday.
I would like to thank all Riverina members for the great amount of work put in to stage the Championships, especially David Royle, Michael Jones, Sue Fraser, Peter Bryant and Patrick Mockler. Full results are on the website with overall class placings in this Whip Around. Congratulations to club member Di Murray on winning some of the sections, plus winning the trophy for the Fittest Pony/Horse. A big thank you should go to The Rock Pony Club ladies for catering all weekend, including the Saturday night dinner.
All of this was followed up a week later by some of the members attending Equitana as drivers, workers or spectators. It was a busy two weeks for all involved.
