Rain has again thwarted the driving plans of Lola Turner. This time she had to pull out of driving her Shetland pair in the Beef Week Parade at Wingham due to the extremely wet conditions. She also had a difficult trip home from work in Gloucester last week. She reached the bridge over the Manning River, within two kilometres of home, and found it covered by floodwater. It was the biggest flood since 1991. Lola had to turn around and go back to Gloucester and follow a different route home – over 100km extra !
